Privacy Notice
Last updated: 22 July 2026
This notice is specific to Speak League, a Glite product. Speak League has no accounts and no sign-up — playing is anonymous, and analytics run only with your consent. This notice explains exactly what is processed when you play. It supplements — and should be read alongside — Glite's main Privacy Policy.
1. Who we are and how to contact us
Speak League is operated by Glite Tech Ltd (Company No. 15522689), 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the processing described here.
For privacy questions or requests — along with details of our Data Protection Officer and representatives — please see our main Privacy Policy.
2. No accounts, no identity
You do not create an account, choose a name, or give us an email address to play. Nothing you submit is linked to you: a submission consists only of the day, the challenge, your similarity score, the text of your description, the AI-generated recreation image, and your country.
Your country is detected automatically from your internet connection at COUNTRY level only (e.g. 'FR'), using our host's standard geolocation header. We never read, store or log your IP address, and nothing more precise than the country is used. It powers the anonymous country leaderboards on the homepage and nothing else. Legal basis: legitimate interests (running country-level leaderboards that cannot identify anyone).
3. Your voice
Before every session you're shown a clear opt-in page explaining that the game uses your microphone and publishes anonymous results — nothing starts until you agree.
When you speak, your recording is sent to our AI provider to convert it into a text transcript and to generate the recreation image. We do not store the audio recording on our servers — only the text transcript (your description) is kept, as part of the anonymous submission. We do not use your voice to identify who you are.
4. Who we share information with
We use a small number of trusted providers to run Speak League. They process data on our behalf under contract and confidentiality obligations, and we do not sell any data.
Google (Gemini AI): transcribes your voice, generates the recreated image, scores visual similarity and produces language feedback. Supabase: our database and image storage. Vercel: hosting. CookieYes: manages your cookie consent.
With your consent only, measurement and advertising tags load via Google Tag Manager — including Google Analytics and Meta (Facebook) — to help us understand usage and measure our advertising. These partners may set their own cookies, as listed in the cookie banner, and act as described in their own privacy policies.
If you choose to download our app, the download links route via Adjust, our app-install attribution provider, so we can measure which installs came from Speak League. Adjust processes this click data as described in its own privacy policy.
5. International data transfers
Some of these providers process data outside the UK/EEA, including in the United States. Where they do, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses, as described in our main Privacy Policy.
6. Cookies, analytics and your choices
Essential (always on): your browser's local storage keeps your detected country, your session's opt-in and your latest result on your own device so the game works; CookieYes sets a cookie recording your consent choices; and site staff signing into the admin area receive a login cookie. None of these identify visitors.
Usage analytics (only with your consent, via the cookie banner): if you accept the 'analytics' category, we record usage events — pages visited, game steps completed (e.g. started, completed), your device type and browser, your city and country (derived from your connection at city level; we never store your IP address), a random session id, and a random device id so we can measure whether people return. This data lives in our own database, is never sold, and is deleted automatically after 90 days. Legal basis: consent.
Google Tag Manager only activates measurement and advertising tags (such as Google Analytics and Meta) in line with your consent choices (Google Consent Mode). You can change or withdraw your choices at any time via the cookie icon shown in the corner of every page — declining never affects gameplay.
7. How long we keep information
Anonymous submissions (score, description, recreation image, day, country) are kept to power the public leaderboards, including all-time boards like the Hall of Fame. Because they contain nothing that identifies you, they are not personal data once submitted; aggregated statistics may be kept indefinitely. Consented analytics data is deleted after 90 days (see section 6).
8. Automated scoring
Your similarity score and feedback are generated automatically by AI models, for learning and entertainment only. They are not a certified or professional language assessment and have no legal or similarly significant effect on you.
9. Your rights
Because submissions are anonymous, we generally cannot link a stored submission back to you. You can still contact us about any concern using the process in our main Privacy Policy, and you can clear everything stored on your own device at any time via your browser's site-data settings.
10. How to complain
If you have a concern, please contact us first using the details in our main Privacy Policy. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), whose details are set out there too.
11. Age — adults only
Speak League is intended for adults. You must be 18 or over to play. The service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
12. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as Speak League evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new 'last updated' date.
For anything not covered here — including how to contact us — please see Read Glite's main Privacy Policy.
